Unoshift is a platform connecting care homes with available care workers. By using our service, care workers agree to the following terms.
These T&Cs shall apply to all persons registered on the platform as Care Workers. They regulate the rights and obligations of Care Workers when visiting the platform and when using the functions and services offered on it. Unless the registration process is successfully completed, the person cannot offer any service via the platform.
Unoshift may change the provisions of these T&Cs at any time without stating the reasons. Such changes shall be posted on the platform. If a Care Worker continues to use the Platform after publication of the amended T&Cs, the amendments are deemed to be accepted.
2. Eligibility
Care workers must be legally authorized to work in the UK.
Minimum age requirement (e.g., 18 years).
Workers must complete a background check, verification of qualifications, and proof of identity.
3. Registration and Account Setup
The use of the Platform as a Care Workers is reserved for registered persons. Registration is free of charge.
Care workers must create an account with accurate personal information.
Unoshift shall verify credentials and qualifications.
Misrepresentation or false information is grounds for termination.
4. Appointment of Unoshift as Mediator
The Care Workers hereby instructs Unoshift to present the services they offer on the Platform and to provide them with opportunities to conclude care Contracts via the Platform. However, Unoshift cannot guarantee that care contracts at all times.
Unoshift is entitled to accept payments in the name and account of the Care Workers.
Care workers act as independent contractors and are not employees of Unoshift. As such, they are solely responsible for fulfilling their tax, insurance, and legal obligations. Unoshift does not offer employment benefits or withhold taxes.
5. Shift Matching and Job Acceptance
Workers are responsible for setting their availability within the app.
Once a shift is accepted, the worker is obligated to fulfill it.
Cancellations after accepting a shift may result in penalties or suspension.
6. Payments and Fees
Care workers will be paid after completing shifts, with payments processed through the platform.
As independent contractors, care workers are solely responsible for reporting and paying any applicable taxes on income earned through Unoshift. Unoshift does not withhold taxes or provide tax advice. Workers should comply with local tax laws and ensure their tax obligations are met at the end of the tax year which is typically from 6th April of one year to 5th April of the next year.
The Care/Support worker can view their credit balance in their user account. Payments to the Care/Support worker shall be made on every Friday for all shifts completed by the Sunday in the form of a cashless transfer to the Care/Support worker’s most recently specified bank account.
7. Worker Responsibilities
Workers are responsible for providing professional, high-quality care to care homes.
Workers must adhere to any regulatory standards and the individual requirements of the care homes they are assigned to.
Professional behaviour and punctuality are required for every shift.
8. Cancellations and Penalties
Care workers may face penalties for last-minute cancellations or failure to fulfill a shift.
Two cancellations per every 90 days would be allowed without penalty.
9. Insurance and Liability
Unoshift does not provide insurance coverage for care workers while on shifts.
10. Termination of Services
Unoshift may terminate or suspend a worker’s account due to misconduct, breach of terms, or unsatisfactory service.
11. Privacy and Data Protection
Unoshift collects and stores personal data in line with GDPR and other data protection regulations.
Personal data may be shared with care homes for matching purposes, but will not be sold to third parties.
12. Dispute Resolution
Any disputes between care workers and care homes must be reported to Unoshift for mediation.
Formal dispute resolution will follow internal procedures before any legal action is pursued.
13. Modifications to Terms
Unoshift reserves the right to update or modify these terms at any time. Users will be notified of significant changes.
14. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom.
